  1. Ivey, I love the bright colors here! And I love gathering. It gives me a chance to sit down and watch tv too. I prefer hand gathering to using my ruffler, which I have never quite mastered. This little outfit is so darling.

  2. So cute! I have made a couple of these. They fit, at least on my girl, snugger than you would expect in the bodice. Not too snug but for being a pullover, it works out pretty well. Also I lengthened both of the ones I made to be dresses since that is all she would wear last year. Now they make great tops.

  3. Thanks gals! The ruffler is nice if you have yards and yards to ruffle, but forget it if you are trying to use it to ruffle up to a certain width. It's just easier to do it the old fashion way. Thanks Jenny! That dress is so cute on your daughter!!! I will have to make some more of these.I like the added length too. Thanks for sharing.

  4. Ivey, I'm a new follower and I am going to be making your brown dress with the big white polka dots next week. It's my last Easter dress to make and I'm wondering if you have any hints before I get started. Just called Sew Blessed yesterday and got the fabric ordered. I am so excited to make this dress. It is just adorable! Thanks for any advice you have. I've never used any Ginger Snaps patterns before, but I am an experienced seamstress.

  5. Just found your blog. I LOVE your stuff. I can't believe I never found y'all's store when we lived in GA! Of course, I have no idea where Hahira is (we were in Columbus). Anyway, I'm drooling over your mad sewing skills and saving all sorts of pics for inspiration! Keep up the good work!

  6. Thank you Chris and Tara! I just love reading sweet comments like both of yours! Love that dress you're making Chris. The pattern only looks intimidating because of the heirloom directions, just skip all that, you're doing the easy stuff. One thing I stressed over was the length of the skirt, the pattern piece has that scallop and I knew I wanted it longer. The longer skirt length is in the directions, I just had to read it closer.Hope that helps a little. You're welcome to ask me questions if you get stuck. Thanks again ladies!Happy sewing!
